"It Takes HEART to be a HERO"
2015: Stay tuned! We JUST kicked off our Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. I will keep you posted as to how much money each school is raising. Our goal is $4000 for EACH school!!
Alpine will be celebrating on Monday, February 16.
Zinser will be celebrating on Tuesday, February 17.
Please contact Mrs. Bradley if you would like to volunteer for the event! ([email protected])
2014: Once again we set out on the mission to save lives! We worked hard to reach out and communicate to our families and friends how important it is to have a healthy heart. Students worked for just over two weeks collecting donations for the American Heart Association. The goal was to raise more money than we did last year.....and.....we did it!! Between Zinser and Alpine, students collected over $7900.
** The American Heart Association just sent our schools THANK YOU gifts for participating.
In addition to the kids' gifts, the PE department at Alpine received $350 to spend on new equipment. Three new basketball hoops and several foam footballs were purchased for our program.
(Zinser's THANK YOU gifts should be arriving in the mail soon! I will update you about the purchases.)
We appreciate your hard work and dedication to making the difference in young children's lives.
2013: Students at Alpine and Zinser Elementary Schools joined millions of other children across the country in a meaningful opportunity to learn and help others. In their Physical Education class, they learned how to take care of their hearts through physical activity and nutrition. They also learned about children who have been affected by cardiovascular disease and what they could do to help.
On February 14, a traditional 'heart' holiday, students celebrated their efforts in collecting over $4300 in donations for Jump Rope for Heart. This is money that will go directly to the American Heart Association to help those who have been affected by heart disease.
