Curl - Ups(also known as Sit-Ups) This test measures abdominal strength and endurance. Students do as many curl-ups as they can while staying with the cadence of the CD. The test is stopped for the student on the second incorrect curl-up. The number of completed curl-ups is recorded.

Push - UpsThis test measures upper body strength. Students do as many push-ups as they can while staying with the cadence of the CD. The test is stopped for the student on the second incorrect push-up. The number of completed push-ups is recorded.

P.A.C.E.R.This running test measures aerobic capacity. The pacing starts slowly and then gradually gets faster. While staying in their lane, students run 15 meters back and forth in the gym while keeping cadence with the CD. Each time across the gym is one lap. THe test is stoppedfor the student on their second miss. The number of completed laps is recorded.

Flexed Arm HangThis test is a static test that measures upper body strength and muscle endurance. Students hang from a pull-up bar while holding their chin above the bar as long as possible. The amount of time is recorded.

Introducing FITNESSGRAM
Students in third through fifth grade will be participating in the new FITNESSGRAM Fitness Testing program in the Fall and in the Spring of each school year. The testing program tracks kids height, weight, flexibility, endurance, and body strength. The results of these tests will be sent home with the students and their semester report cards.
